![]() I always end up with more product than I would like, but since it’s non-drying, I would apply the excess to other places that are prone to breakout. The only thing is, I wish I had more control with how much product comes out of the pump. To my surprise it works rather well as a mattifying primer. It’s not a miracle worker and doesn’t have the power to make acne disappear overnight, but I haven’t seen any new acne scars ever since I started using it so that’s a definite plus! It also did not dry out the areas that I applied it to, so I also use it before I start my makeup routine. It’s very gentle (as most LUSH products are) for an anti-acne treatment. Unlike most spot treatments, there was no stinging sensation when I applied it. It smells of tea tree that’s pretty much undetectable. Grease Lightning comes out clear and has a gel-like, gooey consistency. However when I lack sleep and when I’m stressed, I will get the occasional bump or two. For the most part, my skin is pretty tame. Would recommend to anyone.Review: LUSH Grease Lightning. For spot clearing/antibacterial use though, I'd give it 10/10. This means that there are small white flakes on parts of your face by the end of the day, which wasn't really a good look, so I stopped using it for that. Keep things clear with this cleansing dose of witch hazel, tea tree and rosemary designed to be dabbed over troubled or oily areas. I've tried this and liked it as it does give my makeup a more even, glowing look, but there is the slight issue that Grease Lightning dries somewhat like the glue I used to put on and peel off my fingers (at least my Grease Lightning does). The staff member also told me that she uses it as a makeup base (before applying foundation). It provides relief from pain/itching and helps with swelling. It doesn't work lightning speed, but nothing has for my piercings. In my personal experience, it also works very well on piercings (I have 6 in my upper ear cartilage - a rook and 5 helix piercings for anyone curious - which are very temperamental and become infected/painful easily) in combination with the disinfectant spray that the piercing place sells. If used a few times a day, it will produce visible results very, very fast - something I thought was only possible in advertisements. I've used it on open wounds myself and in my experience it doesn't sting as much as other antibacterial products. At first it brought a lot of pus to the surface, which made mum wonder whether she should be using it, but within 2 - 3 days it had cleared up completely. I told mum what the staff member told me and she started putting it on my sister's foot twice a day. A few days after I bought this product, my younger sister stepped on a metal shade umbrella holder at a family friend's house and got a deep cut in her foot (to give you an idea on how deep/generally nasty looking it was, my mum was worried about tetanus - thankfully my sister's vaccines were up to date). ![]() One of the wonderful staff at the store I shop at told me that it has antibacterial properties, which means it can essentially be used as a wound disinfectant. It has more uses than spot cleansing, however. It's definitely in my top 10 favourite LUSH products list. It's absolutely wonderful and I would sing its praises from a rooftop. Applying twice a day, nasty pimples tend to be gone in 2-3 days. It's designed as a spot cleanser, which it does a fantastic job of. It is honestly one of the most effective things I've ever used. ![]() This product is fondly dubbed "The Windex of LUSH" (see My Big Fat Greek Wedding) by myself and my family members.
